 "healthy" waters and running
 

well, i just got back from the gym and I got some kick-@ss cardio in. I've realized that my endurance when I run has been pretty wonderful lately, so I've been doing things to 'challenge' myself lately.
running on an incline. need i say more??? lol. try this for just a couple minutes at your normal running speed and when it starts to ache in your calves, then turn it back down to zero. Does it suddenly feel like you aren't doing that much hard work?? I've been doing that every day when I've been running...and it makes it kind of interesting for me. I usually put the incline on 3.0, run for like 5-6 minutes, then I put the incline down to 1.0, and then when I feel like my run is getting tough I put it back to zero. (it blast LOTS more calories...and running already blasts alot!) lol
Today after the gym I had to hit the store to stock up on my sugar-free red bull (yeah...I'm addicted, not even gonna lie) and I noticed these new waters from the makers of 'fruit2o'. I usually couldn't care less if my water is fruity or not, but these "new" one tote 'enery' and 'immunity' as additional offerings other than simple hydration. So, I got some of those to try...right now I'm drinking berry pomegranate. I've begun to notice the rise of seeing pomegranate flavored things more often as it's popularity grows.
it's alright.
don't know if it was worth the 8$ to get the 24-pack since I have a bottled water service that delivers to my house (i'm a water JUNKIE!).
But, if it tastes like ANY other flavored water but promises me more of my daily vitamins...well, i'll take it. I just probably won't buy it again. lol

 Last day with the fam
 

Well, guess what? TALK ABOUT TEMPTATION!!!!!!!
Okay, so I'm at the store with my mom yesterday and we're picking out some foods and sides for dinner while they visit. (In my mind, I knew the whole time I was going to have my low-cal sides and Turkey burgers, NOT the whole beef kind with cheese).
Well, she wanted some chips and cheesy, bacon, ranch dip. (uh...yum) and a HUGE tub of cookies (she said it'd be fun for the kids) and we got cheesedogs to also go on the grill, potato salad, cole slaw, and more...
Well, after enduring MUCH shit for opting to eat on my low-cal lite bun (80 cals!) and my turkey burger, then the cookies started getting cooked! My sis was like any other family member I'm sure you've all dealt with. She was telling me it was "vacation" and to eat whatever I wanted and not worry about hitting the gym (they said they didn't want to go with me).
Well, I had 3 cookies. BUT, since I had such a lite lunch before they got there, I knew I was ok on calories. AND I went to the gym. I even talked my mom into going with me. (and I ran a 10 minute mile last night!!!!)
I guess the moral of the story is that there will always be a REASON to get yourself to get careless and an excuse to be able to "put things off until tomorrow", but you know what? Everytime I eat bad I'm eventually full and at that point I WISH I would've of. Now, instead of waiting until after that happens, now I'm just always keeping it in check so I don't have to throw guilt trips on myself. And you know what? Knowing I could still take 2 hours out for the gym AND eat my healthfood with my fam here let me know I can do that around anyone. I'm not eating FOR them. I'm eating for ME. So, I'm having a good day. :)

 Tuesday...
 

Well, my parents will be here any minute.
Literally.
Too bad they can't stay longer, I haven't seen my family in forever. My mom brought up on the phone that they might want to take us out to eat. I'm gonna hope and pray they pick Applebees. That place has TASTY health food. Not that I don't think I would know what is/isn't healthy at another place....but its harder to eat completely different from EVERYONE when you are eating out of 'celebration'.
hmmm.
guess we'll see on that one.
I'd like to stay stong, get something healthy, and feel GREAT about myself...but good intentions aren't always followed up in my case.
BUT I WANT TO.
Hmm. transfering the strong power of WANT to actually doing...
Now, if I can do that: I might just have a good shot, huh? lol
Okay, well, I haven't hit the gym yet, but I hope to later tonight.

okay...i didn't write this weekend...BUT, not for any "bad" reason. Only because I had a BUSY weekend. Sunday was Mothers' Day, and as you should all know, I'm a mother!
:)
I didn't go ballistic on M-Day and actually WANTED to hit the gym BUT it was closed (the family part was, just as it was on Saturday...so I just played some b-ball and ran around the indoor track with my daughter...that little 3 year old can run! it's awesome!)
But anyway...not much new with me. You'd all be proud of me. Shane got me a coldstone ice cream cake (uh, YUM!!!) and I only had 1/12 of a slice tonight for a little treat (it's SO freaking good...but not good enough to blow my gym time!)
I don't know how much I'll be writing the next few days only because my parents and sister are coming to visit me, and so I may be occupied. I STILL plan to go to the gym, and even called them and told them to bring gym clothes because we can all go together OR i'll just go before they get up. I don't even plan to eat bad when they're here. We're doing a lot of grilling (hot dogs, hamburgers, and steaks) BUT, I usually make myself turkey burgers and turkey steak things ANYWAY, so I'm still going to...and it will be awesome. So...I should have NO more gains. All will just go down from here on out.

 Tired and in pain...
 

So, I usually expect soreness. As a matter of fact, I usually love that feeling.
Oh...but today. lol.
It hurt getting out of bed. It hurt moving. I went to the gym earlier today for only an hour, and it HURT. I had ZERO energy. I even had my regular red bull--but I just couldn't get myself moving very fast. I was beat.
But, then, I came home and took my progress pictures. Usually I do these every Monday night, but after my bad weekend, I was less than thrilled to do them that night.
I usually do front view, side view, and back view. I normally have 2 different outfits. One of my in my sports bra and jeans that didn't fit, and another in a (gasp) bikini.
Well, today after doing my bikini shot, I reviewed them and sat in shock. Eventhough my weight loss in the last 3 weeks has been minimal- The results were SHOCKING. I want to post the pic because it's SO interesting to see the difference, but at the same time...I am in a (gasp..again) bikini. But things are moving upward and getting tighter. It's just amazing!!!
Okay..well, gonna go now. Hope you guys have a good Friday. Eventhough I can't move easily, mines great! lol
